All Star WeekendIt's that time of year again guys, our first All Star Weekend is upon us! And I'm wondering what kind of features you'd all like to see as part of this annual event. If you have any ideas or any things you'd like to see please reply here. Things I'm thinking of including: - Hightlight Reel of the Slam Dunk Competition and some of the 3PT Competition.
- anything else?

Highlights for sure. But for the AS Game, we should vote in the starters, like in real life.
Rules: Vote for 1 Centre, 2 Forwards, and 2 Guards per conference. You can't vote for your own players.
I'll start... East: C: Dwight Howard (Orlando Magic) F: Chris Bosh (Toronto Raptors) F: Paul Peirce (Charlotte Bobcats) G: Jason Kidd (New Jersey Nets) G: Gilbert Arenas (Washington Wizards)
West: C: Yao Ming (Houston Rockets) F: Tim Duncan (San Antonio Spurs) F: Elton Brand (Los Angeles Clippers) G: Steve Nash (Phoenix Suns) G: Allen Iverson (Denver Nuggets)

If we are going to vote our own all stars we would need updated stats to help base voting decisions

That'd be cool, but I think the game itself decides who starts. I dunno how to change that sorta stuff around! Just so you know guys, I'll do a highlight reel for the Dunk Contest only, because one thing you don't know is that my graphics card sucks! I'll try and make screenshots of the rest of the events.

Alright, sounds good.
If you can't change it, maybe you can sim the ASG outside of Dynasty Mode on Play Now (or exhibition). Just start the players we vote in, and then put the other players in based on reputation, stats, and team success. We can have a poll or something to choose the bench.

That's a really good idea and I just started setting it all up when I figured that I should actually check in-game to make sure that it's possible... It's not possible!! Live 07 doesn't let you choose who plays for which team, it just gives you a basic East/West from real life!!

You can change it via DBF. There's a way to do it I'm sure. Just ask on nba-live.com.

I went through and checked the likely players for the All Star Game and Rookies vs Sophomores. These players usually turn up atleast twice in the players.dbf file and when their corresponding 'Team ID' was not their usual team's ID, I noted down the number.
Team ID 30 Lebron James Shaq Vince Carter Rip Hamilton Bosh Billups Arenas Wade Jermaine ONeal
Team ID 31 Yao Nash Dirk Kobe Garnett Duncan TMac Marion Tony Parker Iverson
Team ID 32 Gasol PP Rasheed Ray Allen Elton Brand Ben Wallace Kidd Webber Villanueva Deron Williams Hakim Warrick Patrick O'Bryant Bogut
Team ID 45 Chris Paul Felton Martell Webster
Team ID 46 Josh Smith
... I just can't see any correlation that would mean they're going to the All Star Game. Then again, maybe I'm looking in the wrong place!?!

Further...
The file teams.dbf says that: 30 - All Star East 31 - All Star West 32 - Retired
But players who started in the East but then joined the West are still in the East lineup. Like Shaq, who went to Minnesota, is still in the East (30). And Kevin Garnett is still in the West (31) despite playing for Chicago. Also, Channing Frye - who, by default, STARTS the ASG at power forward!!!! - is in team 32...

Hmmm, it's necessary a Highlight Reel? If not, you can create other save with a name "All Star"( ) and trade the all stars players to 2 teams, example: All Star West Team of D5 is all traded to Dallas Mavericks All Star East Team of D5 is all traded to Chicago Bulls All Star Rookie Team of D5 is all traded to Miami Heat All Star Sophomore Team of D5 is all traded to Minnessota T-Wolves, this in the "All Star" Save you will create, with this, we can vote to our(D5, not team) players =D Obviously, this is only a idea and if not have Highlight Reel of All Star Game, only the Box Score.

Miami has a good idea. We can use the first place teams of each conference, and play the All-Star game with them. And play the Rookie/Soph game with the second place teams.
Then just save the dynasty file in a seperate slot and name it All Star Weekend.

Good idea! I guess it'll be kinda like the privilege of each team to have the All Star Game in their team strips or something, heh I'll post the ballots soon.
