sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2954127Ohhhh baby! If we land Garnett my faith as a Celtic fan is restored! It's a pity we'd miss out on Al Jefferson's best years, but considering the current weak nature of the Eastern Conference it seems a good time to focus on the present and rebuild a few years from now when it'll be tougher. I really hope the deal goes through.

For the sake of the Knicks making the playoffs this year, please God, say no to KG in Boston.
Anyway, what do you think the deal is going to look like if it does go down. Right now, the article states Jefferson, Ratliff's expiring, and Rajon Rondo. I'd say that Boston needs to add Gerald Green (not sure if Minny wants another young guard) or a future first round pick.

The Celtics would be nasty, but they would still need a PG badly (Rondo and Telfair aren't the answers) I think they still have the MLE and could go after Charlie Bell or Janerro Pargo.

What about Earl Boykins? He opted out of his contract with the Bucks. I am not sure if he has signed with anybody yet. Do you guys think he could fit in on this team?

A KG-Allen-Pierce team is a collection of bad knees and ankles. An injury to any one of them is almost a certainty and would kill the Celtics' chances at a title.
On the flip side, I really like this deal for the T-Wolves. Jefferson, Green and Telfair - in addition to the cap relief from Ratliff - would add so much to Minny.
Foye, Jefferson, Green, Brewer, Telfair plus a ton of cap space would make for a quick rebuilding plan in Minny that's for sure.

Pierce, Garnett, Allen. Theres a killer threesome. The division just got alot harder to win if it hasn't already. Also a good deal for the Twolves. They get Rondo, a future star and Jefferson who will be an allstar for years. I wonder how well the three would work together without a PG like Nash or Kidd.
*Crossing my fingers this trade doesn't go through*

Rondo is the future at the point and is the answer ainge wouldnt give him up in this deal or the ray allen deal. Rondo brings athleticism, great defense and great speed and passing. Rondo is a slasher and finishes at the rim, he just cant shoot. He also rebounds very well for a pg.

^^^ Very true. I love Rondo, I'm just saying that if they want to win a championship within the next 2 seasons, that he won't be that great player yet.

Brevin Knight would look sweet in a Celtics uni IMO

Not official, but ESPN reports:
MIN trades:
Kevin Garnett
BOS trades:
Al Jefferson Gerald Green Ryan Gomes Sebastian Telfair Theo Ratliff (expiring contract) 2 1st round draft picks
------------------------------------------
I understand that Boston is trying to win a title now, but this is A LOT to give up for a 31 year old KG. I'm really hoping that the top remaining free agents decide not to go to Boston leaving them with 1 superstar, 2 all stars, Rajon Rondo, Kendrick Perkins and a junior varsity high school bench. This trio of Pierce, Allen, and KG is awesome, but they need to pick up at least two impact free agents to be considered legit contenders this year IMO. From Boston's perspective, I would push the most to bring in Brevin Knight and P.J. Brown.

Goddamn, it seems strange that it takes two first rounders on top of all that. Someone also said that if one of the trio gets injured then it wont look too great, and they're right.
I agree with you New York, they need to clear up in free agency a bit.

I'm kind of glad we started the league before the offseason started...or else Boston would be rigged/making blockbuster trades every two seconds.
I think the trio is defintately good enough to get to the playoffs but I don't know if they can win.

I'm happy for Boston fans. They've had to sit through some crappy years. I'm not happy for myself though, this makes the Raptors job a lot harder.
