In the case of the LA Clippers and Lakers (and Nets/Knicks too).
Clearly there are less Clippers fans, and therefore they receive the basic market rating of 2. The Lakers have both local and worldwide appeal and therefore have a 4.
Utah's Salt Lake City only has a metropolitan population of just over 100,000, which makes them by far the smallest city on the list, but their worldwide appeal pushes them to a 2.
Minnesota and Detroit are the only locations which receive a 1 for location, but maybe Milwaukee or Cleveland should too?
Your thoughts?

well here is a list for attendance off of espn for last season if you wanna look it over. espn.go.com/nba/attendanceobviously somethings will change, but I think this might help.

Only problem there is that they represent recent seasons. The Cavs aren't a historically popular team and were artificially inflated by Lebron's presence, to give but one example.

Well here are some things that stick out to me at first glance:
Washington, Boston, Golden State should have a 3 for market size
Phoenix should only have a 2 for market size
As far as location appeal, I think Detroit should be a 2 instead of a 1. Cleveland and Memphis should be a 1.
For legacy, I think phoenix should be at most a 2, and OKC could move up to a 2 since they have existed for a long time under another name... its still the same team
Also, the Lakers/Clippers/Warriors should be a 4 for location

Agreed for all 3
Should be a 3, population of Phoenix is 4.5 million
Maybe make Detroit a 2, I guess historically they are not the shit hole they are now. Cleveland must be a 1, Memphis should be a 1 too.
Yeah, could maybe throw New York in there too.

What are the starting rosters going to be for this league? Are we going to have super Miami?

If we do use the rosters with "super miami" I think we should do a randomized team selection draft, would only make it fair, since everyone would want the heat.

Hmm. I actually kinda like the idea of a random selection for teams.

Hmm. I actually kinda like the idea of a random selection for teams. Well thats not what I meant but thats another idea. I meant randomize a draft order when you have 30 owners signed up, then you can do a selection draft.

Hmm. I actually kinda like the idea of a random selection for teams. I don't like this. I want to decide myself and I want to know what I am getting into before hand. I want a team I like, I already got my rebuilding project here. Also forcing people to play as whatever team they get probably is not the best way to keep activity up.
