I am posting this here because it is the earliest player that can't be signed but it goes for all 3. SAS has got some cap issues, he can't sign Anthony Parker, Kurt Thomas or Mo Evans(unless he has bird rights). He has less than 500k in cap space (as of Duhon signing).
But if he were to sign someone at the minimum then he would be over the cap and could sign them all through MLE (adds to 5.5 mil).

In the NBA, the MLE is only for teams that, on July 1, are over(with the MLE included) the cap. So basically, the MLE is only for teams that are over, or within the MLE of the cap at the beginning of the offseason. You can't sign FAs to become in the range of the MLE. Is this not the case in D5?

That is the case in the NBA but NJ went over the cap and offered Mcdyess a deal through MLE. I asked Boston what his ruling is on this, and:
So SAS would get his MLE.

Actually this brings up another question, can you use your MLE while under the cap? From what I understand you can't but if you can then those 3 are just signed through MLE and this whole thing doesn't matter. EDIT: Based on the Peitrus situation you can't. Boston has informed me that the offer was illegal, so Pietrus has decided to sign with the Denver Nuggets instead. I have modified my original post to reflect this So SAS will have to sign a minimum to get those players.

yeah the MLE rule should be reworked...like who is over the cap on the last day of the finals...otherwise teams under the cap have a double advantage....MLE are only for teams who are over the cap to sign medicore players...

I agree. For now the MLE rule I established stands, but next Off Season we'll re-work it to fit NBA standards.

In real life MLE goes to teams that are either: 1) over the cap at the start of FA 2) Teams that are under the cap by less than MLE worth of money at the start of FA

I'll address the issue once the off season is over.
