That Other team in LA
The Clippers are not exactly the team a new GM wants to take control of. They have made the playoffs less than 5 times the entire time the organization has been in existence. Not only that but they have had a winning season twice. Two times in the past 25 years have the Clippers been above .500 in the regular season. That is not a statistic to be proud of folks.
"But now there is a chance to change all that" says Cliff Burns. Mr. Burns a wealthy stockbroker from Brooklyn, New York is determined to change the future of this team. "Not much people believe in us" said Cliff at a press conference. "So we are gonna prove them wrong".
"They may be easier said than done" said former Clippers Elton Brand. "You look at their lineup and you really don't see any stars at all or even 2nd options". And who can blame Brand for his remarks. Johnny Flynn is best player on the team and that isn't a complement. Ryan Anderson has also been a surprise so far this season and the team have great quality role players. But that is the problem. The team has great role player and that's where the praise ends.
Another problem of the underachieving Clippers are the lack of size. Cliff Burns has stated that his first order of business will be to find a decent big man for the team. Ryan Anderson and Brad Miller don't exactly scream Twin Towers. Glen Davis and Javale McGee are great role players as well but the team just doesn't have enough talent. Rumors have it the Clippers are putting Flynn, Kryptonate and Foye for someone to put in the center and build around.
The players are already disgruntled of their lack of success and are blaming it on each others. "I didn't come to the NBA to lose and its all that midjet of a players fault" said Johnny Flynn. Only time will tell what will happen to this Clippers team. But one thing is for sure. It sure will be fun to watch.
The Clippers have always been the weird twin brother in the classroom. The kid no one wanted to talk but adored his brother. I mean when you have a team like the Lakers in town why come to their game just to see them get blown out. Which is why whenever the Clippers finally get a star in the making they are forced to trade him because of his frustration towards the company's lack of quality players. However with the backcourt duo of Nate and Flynn wrecking havoc maybe this cloud has a silver lining. One thing is for sure though. It will be a blast to see what happens next.
