I like this a lot more for Houston...can I get an explanation from Phoenix as to why he is doing this? Kevin Martin is an 85+ rating type guy, Murphy should be around 78-80, Redick has been looking much better this year IRL, and Koufos has good talent and potential still. He gets back two years of a worthless Cuttino Mobley at a high contract (negative value), Deshawn Stevenson's very long contract for a guy who does not play much and isn't very good IRL.
I'm just not sure that Thornton + Delonte + Brooks + Marvin Williams (who will need resigned) MINUS Mobley's negative value MINUS Stevenson's negative value = Kevin Martin/Murphy/Redick/Koufos.
What is the thought process PHX?

And Phoenix gave up a lot to get Murphy if I remember in that 3-way, they asked me if I would do Okur for Murphy and I was like heck yes lol. I just think if PHX has that much faith in Murphy he shouldn't be giving him away.

ehhh I like this deal a lot more for Phoenix than for Houston
You guys are making way too much of Troy Murphy... even if Phoenix thinks he is a good player, he is still rated a 73 with a terrible contract. Phoenix is getting really nice young players in Thornton and Brooks. I accept

My thought process was this: -At this point cap space doesnt matter to me. With the contracts that I already have, I wont be able to get legitimate cap space until the year after this upcoming one anyway. So the contracts were not a factor for me.
-Brooks should be upgraded to somewhere in the 70s at least. He's a starting pg on a playoff caliber team. One of my goals for the offseason was to acquire a good starting PG, since Felton is expiring, and I like Brooks a lot.
-Redick and Delonte West are pretty similar imo. Both are rising role players and both can shoot pretty well, but West is a better defender.
-I've been trying to get rid of Koufas for a while now, so I had no problem giving him away.
-Murphy was a player that I really like, and trading him leaves me a little light down low, but Thornton can start and grab boards and is a pretty good defender, so I think that they are fairly similar too, with the edge going to Murphy probably.
Whenever Im about to do a trade i look at what my depth chart would be with and without the trade, so heres what I looked at:
With Trade: Gasol-David West-Thornton-McGrady-Brooks Bench- Evans-Radmonovic-Miller-Delonte West-Sessions-Stevenson-Mobley
Without Trade: Gasol-David West-McGrady-Martin-Sessions Bench- Murphy- Evans-Radmonovic-Reddick
I think that they are close, but I prefer the first one.
Thats my thought process, If you still dont think its a fair trade, decline it and maybe Houston and myself will be able to work something else out.

I don't see a problem with this trade. Martin is obviously the best player in the trade, but PHX is getting LOTS of young talent in return. I accept.

Maybe I just like Kevin Martin and Troy Murphy more than others. I'm going to say the trade is close enough to pass, but I still like it for Houston more.
Anyway, I Accept.
