The Nets GM has recently expressed interest in moving some of the star players from his team. He told reporters recently that any number of players on the Nets starting lineup could be dealt over all star break. The GM reported that, after dealing Carter, the team just has not been clicking. Despite having a winning record, the team is still in the place of the 7 seed in the playoff hunt.
The GM later interviewed with ESPN, "I have come to the conclusion that my team is probably not going to win it all this year. For the past few years, we have been in a situation where it seems like just making the playoffs is good enough. But, the East (conference) is getting stronger and stronger, so our team needs to be built more constructive."
When asked about his team's primary needs, the GM replied, "We have a complete team, but we just aren't good enough to compete with other teams. I am not going to call out names that need to be replaced, but we definately must bring in some more all star calibur players."
