It's official! JO, Moon for Marion, Banks! sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3905146Don't know how I feel about this as a Raps fan. Miami obviously gets a great deal not only dumping Banks nasty contract but also frees up 21M for 2010 with JO coming off the books. They also get a much needed post presence in JO who's been great when healthy this year. Definitely a good deal for the Heat. It was obvious JO, Bargs and Bosh wasn't gonna work out and know we can give Bargs consistent minutes plus we get that slashing, rebounding wing man we've been lacking since forever. Sucks we have to take on Banks but he's a good defender which is something we need. Pretty excited to see Marion in the lineup but this could potentially hurt us in the long run if Marion doesn't re-sign.

I think this is a close deal but I'll give the edge to the Heat because they got rid of Banks and his contract

I'd be worried about re-signing Marion. From what it sounds like, he thinks he's better than and worth more than he really is. Then again, you guys might just be looking to save some money, which they most certainly are with the luxury tax!

I really like Banks, not sure why he hasn't worked out but maybe things will change? It's a good deal for both teams, Beasley and Hasslem can go to more natural position at the 3 and 4. J.O. at the 5, with Dwade and Chalmers. If Chalmers keeps developing look out!
For TOR, Marion/Bosh/Bargs is a sick run n gun front line. Calderon can run the show, and I'm not sure of there roster but I'm sure they have a decent 2 guard (Parker?)
I think for now TOR got the better deal, but if MIA lands a big FA look out.

What I don't understand is why BC didn't ask for a guy like Anthony or Cook.

What I don't understand is why BC didn't ask for a guy like Anthony or Cook. They are saving a REDICULOUS amount of cash. If anything, the Heat should have gotten a draft pick or something for taking on that additional money in this economic crisis!

They took a hit overall but they save more money later for 2010 which the goal.
Apparently, the Raps also traded a pick and will receive 3M in cash in return. I'd sell a second rounder for 3M anyday.

I think the Heat got the better end
Jermaine is one of the few elite big men left in the league that can both score and play defense... look for his production to jump to 20/10 numbers again now that he is semi-healthy and in an offense where he is the only legit big man

I hope so, JO has quickly grew on me in his short time in Toronto. Love his swagger and defence and wish him all the best in Miami.
