The Utah Jazz are off to a 1-3 start this season after being in many publications as 1 of the top teams not only in the Western Conference but in the entire league. The Jazz boast a star studded lineup that consists of the big 3 of Dwyane Wade, Elton Brand, and Tracy McGrady. Accompanying them in the starting lineup is 2nd year big man Al Horford and don't even get me started on the cluster f@$* they have at the PG spot right now.
So what has the Jazz GM John Stockton done to fix their early season problems? Has he traded Jamaal Tinsley or Chris Duhon to alleviate the headache at the PG spot? The answer would be NO.
Don't get me wrong John Stockton has been able to make some big time moves since becoming the GM in Utah but if he is so good at making big time moves why can't he make 1 simple deal that could possibly fix Utah's PG problem and help them develop some on court chemistry?
Word on the street is that the Jazz GM has made preliminary offers to try and acquire several different players ranging from stars to role players. Some of the bigger names the Jazz have shown interest in Michael Redd, Josh Howard, Brandon Roy, Chauncey Billups and Baron Davis. The Jazz also made a play at trying to get Lemarcus Aldridge from division rival Oklahoma City but had no luck. So far Stockton has come up empty on any possible deals that could help right the ship in Utah.
Jazz owner Larry Miller might need to consider going in a different GM direction. Sure Stockton has put out very talented lineups every year he has been in office but that has not necessarily shown in the win column over the past 2 seasons. Not to mention their meltdown at the end of the year that cost them the Northwest Division title that many had given them a month before they choked it off and let Denver claim the crown yet again.
Maybe its not time to hit the panic button just yet in Utah especially since their leader Dwyane Wade has not played since the 1st game of the year due to a minor injury. However in this writer's eyes the ship is sinking in Utah before it has even left the dock.
