I live in the UK but I actually follow US politics more closely. I'm quite heavily in favor of Mr Obama, but then so is most of the World outside of Ameria, har!

I'm going to vote for Barak Obama, yeah I don't like his lack of experience and all but with what condition the country is in now because of Bush and the fact that John McCain voted in support of him 90% scares me. And to bring up the economy, it isn't doing to well and the last person I want trying to fix it is someone who admitted he doesn't know as much about economics as he should and it's something he needs to be educated on

I know he won't be completely similar to Bush but the one thing he will be is on the war in Iraq, I know it looks like it's going good now but you cant win a war you should have never been in to begin with especially when it's costing around $10 billion a month. (and to add in the fact that we're in debt to China around $1 trillion, and $7 trillion worldwide { www.publicdebt.treas.gov/})

What good has war ever done? And don't tell me it helps the economy, because the US is more in debt than any other country has EVER been.
If Obama wins, and does one tenth of the things he's saying he's going to do, he would be the best president ever. If McCain wins, this country will continue the never ending dog eat dog mentality, and millions will starve in the streets, as the rest of us sit in our lazyboys. Meanwhile millions more die in Iraq so we can secure oil fields. But yeah, McCain is a great choice.
I'm so glad I live in Canada for the universal healthcare alone. I have relatives who would be homeless if they lived in the States, but because of universal healthcare, they haven't had to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to pay for surgery. That's well worth living in colder weather if you ask me. At the same time though, our upcoming election is going to have us see more of the same bullshit, as it's going to be another Conservative minority, and we're still going to be "peace keeping" in Afghanistan. Well I've got news for you, there's no way to win a war against terrorists. These people don't fear death like we do, they're suicide bombers for Christ's sake. You wan't win a war that's not a war. You can only lose lives.

Now I'm not going to completely disagree with that but look at the United States before and after WW2. War can only help the economy if it is struggling to begin with like with the depression.

World War Two is the obvious exception to that I should have noted. And that was the only necessary war the US has fought. The world needed them then. The world doesn't need them to be in Iraq right now.
Even WW1 was just an arms race, and the US didn't even fight in WW1 until the end when German forces were depleted.

I get the feeling that war is a necessity for the American economy. If there's no wars to spend your $680bn budget on, then that immense sector of your economy will shrink. You guys need to reduce your dependence on military spending, especially considering you spend 10x as much as the nearest spender (China, $60bn).
I also think that anyone who takes the Old Testament (Sarah Palin) literally is officially insane and shouldn't be trusted with toasters, hair dryers and other appliances, let alone vice presidency.

How long is it going to be before a Republican starts pushing Canada around considering we have the most oil of any country on earth besides Saudi Arabia?

How long have we (America and Canada) been friends? Why don't you just go ahead and let your good pals from the US have a little oil. We can give you another NHL team in return. Thats what friends do, right?

Hahaha. Yeah we only make over half of the NHL's fan base despite having only 6 of the 30 teams.

Important enough that the Catholic church completely ignores the 1st commandment and hangs pictures and crucifix's of Christ all over the church? Or the way they killed thousands of people who were Prodestant because of their faith. (which completely contradicts the 5th commandment)

The next four years will be fun to watch as America is let down when Obama shows that talking pretty is his only talent. 2012 is a lock for the republicans.

I doubt that, hell even if McCain won this year he wouldn't be able to fix everything that's wrong by 2012. People need to realize that if they want one persons plan to work their going to need 4 years to set it up and 4 more to get it working at it's best.

I think the Obama/McCain election is similar to the Tony Blair/John Major election in the UK from a few years ago.
The Labor Party here in the UK (Tony Blair, now Gordon Brown is Prime Minister) is still riding on the back of the Conservative Party's (Margaret Thatcher/John Major) failures of the past and has done for over a decade!
If the United States and Barack Obama follows the same precedent, they'll be riding the failures of George W Bush for atleast two terms.
