NEW YORK KNICKS
GM - DONNY WALSH
(Friday 25th of July, 2008)
The New York Knicks have been awarded the prestigious accolade of Dynasty Five 2008 Executive of the Year! After two consecutive seasons as GM of the Knicks, Donny Walsh has ingeniously managed to shed the crippling salaries that the Knicks were once famous for and build - at an insanely fast pace - a young, developing team that could now compete for the championship the next 15 years! Nowhere was this masterful GMing witnessed more than during the lead-up to the recent 2008 Rookie Draft, where the Knicks managed to trade-down, acquire more in return from Houston, but still manage to secure the top two players in the draft and thus add even more all-star-calibre young talent to his impressive roster.
Knicks GM Resigns! Bids Farewell to D5!
And so it happens that, on the day he received the Executive of the Year award, Donny Walsh decided to resign from the New York Knicks organisation and Dynasty Five's Board of Staff Members! Sending a PM to me which arrived in my office this morning:
This league has been a lot of fun for me, but I think that its my time to leave... Since the off-season is coming to an end, and the free agency period is virtually finished... the league shouldn't miss a beat with the timing of my departure.
And so, it is with a (very) heavy heart, that I must announce the departure of the Knicks GM from our league. He has been a dedicated staff member for over a year and a GM of unparalleled skill and patience. He has left at the height of his success and ensured an easy ride for whoever replaces him in New York. He takes his place at the top of the Hall of Fame for D5 General Managers. He will be sorely missed.
