we really need to catch up to the real nba and to do that we should probably be completely down with the regular season by the real-life nba draft i dont see what the big deal is to hurry up. Then what do we do the rest of the year until October? Free agency & the draft wont take longer than a month. Also we need to allow GMs a chance to make moves to help their teams in whatever ways they see fit. We could speed it up a little, but i dont think it is that important to be done that fast

at the rate we're going, our first season and the next real life nba season would overlap

Eh, I doubt it. We're going like, three games per a day, with 5 months left before the start of the next NBA season. We'll no doubt be finished before the real season starts, though our offseason will be shorter but I'm fine with that.

its not that i'm not being patient, its just that this league started way late and we just need to compensate for that...i'm not proposing sim it all at once, i'm saying sim to the all-star break within a period of a week. We can't go at the same pace as the earlier starting leagues

My league is done for the season and now I have to figure out things to do until next season begins. This league starting late will be just fine. This will take us most of the way until next season starts and it will keep the activity flowing.
By the way great job with the league so far guys. You have a great Admin here.

The current pace seems fine to me, we want to wrap up our finals a month or so before the season starts in Novermber. We've still got 4 months, 2 for the reg season, a full month for playoffs and finals, and then another full month for offseason trading etc. We could easy do the playoffs and finals and offseason in 6 weeks, buying us another two weeks for the reg season. If we aren't at the halfway point of the season come the end of June then we should start speeding things up a bit perhaps, but at this rate we'll be finished in good time.
League is very well organised, I like how guys are booted if they keep screwing up.

I've been thinking about this as time continues and I don't think it's such a bad thing, infact I think it's a good thing. - For some reason I was worried about the fact that our 2007 rookie draft wont happen at the same time as the NBA's. When infact, the longer we leave it the better an idea we'll have about how good the rookies are and the more knowledge we'll have when entering the draft.
- I was also worried that our season wouldn't end before the 2007/08 NBA season began. But if I keep simming like I am we should finish just before the NBA season begins, ready for our offseason and then the league can start simming again (hopefully using Live 08 with our rosters still intact) as soon as the real season begins. Which is infact quite good timing. And it doesn't really matter if we do overlap with the NBA season anyway...
- If the pace of simming slows then I will pick it up and get back to where we were.
- On June 16th I'm going on holiday for 2 weeks and then moving house! You've gotta live without any simming during that time!

I don't think there should be any rush to sim this season. Like others have said, if you sim this season too quickly, we're going to be left with a LOT of down time until the 2008 season kicks off. If that happens, I wouldn't be surprised to see the league die.
If it looks like there's going to be some overlap with this season, the draft, and the 2008 season, then we should consider speeding up the simulation in a month or two, but not now.

Why does it matter so much that we start our next season at the same time as the NBA does? I mean, I don't see why the real NBA should affect our league.
I'm not saying that that's what's going to happen. I'm just saying if it did, why would that be so bad?
