I can't wait for this game to come out next week after playing the demo for 360. The animations and dunks are so sweet and very unique to every player. The AI just seems so real: Bruce Bowen knows that his sweet spot is that corner 3 and he gets there and drains it. Unlike last year (I had it on ps2), the shot selection by the computer is SO MUCH better. Blocking, rebounding, and just about everything else feels so smooth.
I might have to pull a Cartman and freeze myself for a week. It turned out well for him...

Awesome game. The Dynasty mode has been revamped. -When negotiating contracts, you can now put in team options, player options, and no trade clauses. -You can now trade 4 items at once. Prior to this, the limit was 3. -You can pre-determine your substitution pattern by using sliders to distibute minutes. -The whole "team chemisty" and "roles" idea is working well. -Free agent signings are more "Madden" like. Signings are no longer just based on money, and players no longer sign on the day you offer the contract. -Unlike last year's version (last year I had it on PS2), you are no longer prohibited from trading during the re-signing period. -Unlike previous years, those big name free agents that are left unsigned won't just become available for the $5 million mid-level exception when the next season begins. It appears (I've only done one year, but Brand and Artest followed this pattern) that if they go unsigned, those players resign big contracts with their former teams. -The MLE was raised a little bit. I think its about $5.7 million. And, of course, the gameplay is legendary.

Nice review NY! Do you have this for Ps2 or what? I have it for 360. Also, the online play runs very smooth, and the competition is much more fair. The programmers really did a nice job taking away some of exploits (abusing the dunk; abusing the steal; etc.) that have ruined online play for me in the past. Aside from one guy abusing Lebron James' unstoppableness around the basket, I can actually say that I've had a good time playing online. They still have online leagues, and I joined one today but am still waiting for it to fill up.

I just got the game today for PS2, and I am impressed, but it is not much of an upgrade from 2K7. Association mode is much improved, but the PS2 version doesn't have player personalilities. The gameplay has much nicer looking shots, passes, and handling, but the layups and dunks are still choppy as hell. At one point in training, I missed 9 consecutive uncontested layups with Jose Calderon. I like the new player cards too, and overall it is an alright game.

On PS2 it is L1 and O. But I'm sure it's probably the same for PS3. I have no idea about 360 though.

As I mentioned above, I was really starting to like the online play for the first time ever. Unfortuately, the first few people I played were from a rare breed. Its seems as if EVERYONE just tries to turbo or crossover their way into the paint and only throw down dunks or easy layups. Its so F'n gay!!! For every good game I've had (and some have been awesome), there have been 3 more that just suck. I start out using my mid-range jumper, post game, and some open 3 pointers. I end up falling behind since my opponent ONLY dunks, and I have to jack up a 3 on every possession. Its so frustrating.
