Clippers Receive: Devin Brown (75) - $3,000,000
Total - $3,000,000
Pacers Receive: Cuttino Mobley (77) - $8,400,000
Total - $8,400,000
As GM of the Clippers I accept. Pacers have about 10 million in cap space, so he can absorb the extra 5 mil.
This was strictly a strategic salary move for myself. Usually you really cant justify trading a 77 for a 75 straight up, but in this case it makes sense.
I am looking to make a huge run at one of the top PF in free agency and this pushes me towards that goal.

I'm surprised Indy wants to do this.
If Indiana is ok with Mobley's burdensome contract then I accept, I'd like to hear back from you Indiana, once you've read up on just how huge Cuttino's contract is. But I suppose atleast Mobley is a useful player unlike Antoine Walker+fat contract or someone.

I'm also suprised that Indy would want to do this, but Mobley can be a useful player.
I'll make my decision once we get an explanation from Indy.

I don't like this trade at all. At this point in their careers, is Mobley that much better than a younger Devin Brown to forfeit 5-6 million more per year to your salary cap? I'll also hold off on deciding until Indiana gives his reasoning.

I think Cuttino Mobley while expensive has proven that he is a consistent performer. Hes a career 16 ppg where Devin Brown averages a career 7 ppg & is floats around from team to team. Brown sometimes is barely even on the NBA radar. Mobley is expensive, but regardless I accept

Now that I've looked at it, I don't think this will work under the cap rules. I think Indiana's salary page is saying he already has $61 million committed to the 2007-2008 season. Seeing as how there is over $5 million in salary difference in this trade, this can't go through. I might be wrong though since Indy's salary page is so damn confusing.

If I'm right we're still going by the 06/07 salary(until the end of the draft) so it doesn't matter if it goes offer for the 07/08 salary. And just to add in I think the salary cap should increase for the 07/08 season.

Actually, it does matter if it goes over the 07/08 cap. And our cap is a lot higher than the real NBA, we just have a hardcap, whereas they have a neverending cap.

We are still using 0607 salaries, so financially this trade is ok.

Since Indy is fully aware of the financial committment and Boston says it works financially, I'll accept it.

This trade has had three (reluctant) accepts.
Please update your salary and depth charts.
