CHI sends
Chris Duhon $3,024,000, $3,248,000 Mike Sweetney $2,696,956 ($5,720,956)
PHI send
Joe Smith $6,807,000 Bobby Jones $412,718, $687,456 2007 PHI 2nd round pick ($7,219,718)
Both teams would remain under the cap

I accept this trade. I give him talent, but I get some cap relief because Smith is a large expiring contract, and he can be my first PF off the bench for the playoff push. Jones is a great defender, that is getting a decent jumper. I hope he can become a Bruce Bowen type for me. The second rounder just balences it out because he is getting the best player in the deal. I give up a second, my backup PF and a bench guy but get a similar level backup PF back in Sweetney, who's still young, plus a good backup PG in Duhon, while dropping $1.5m. I'd rather take Duhon rather than lose Smith to FA and have to take my chances with a 2nd rounder. Sweetney is young enough for me to consider holding onto him to see if he develops.

I dont love this trade, Duhon is much better than Bobby jones(im from Philly, he barely plays), Smith is old and Sweetney is better. Despite teh addition of the 2nd rounder I just dont think this is quite balanced enough. Maybe a future 2nd Rounder adden by Philly would balance it for me

I'm doing it for the cap mainly. That way I have more room to extend Deng. Plus, Duhon will probably have a lower rating in 08. And it's not a lopsided cap deal like Randolph for Millsap and Brewer.

I think Chicago's correct about Duhon and that balances it for me.
I accept. Just wanna see if New Orleans thinks we should reconsider.

Where is NO. Once he accepts, can we finish this deal? Or is it too late, due to the deadline?

All the deals that are still in the Submit Section can still go through, the deadline was when teams weren't allowed to post any NEW trades.

Oh ok. sounds good. Problem with this deal is that it involves 2 mods, so we need to wait on all the other 3 to get it approved.

Fine by me, the pick balances. For some reason I thought Duhon had a good season. But are we really going to give Live credit for accepting that they overrated a player.
Live's belief is, were better off overrating the previous years overrated and underrating te previous years underrated rather than giving people better ratings but admitting we were wrong.
