Vince Carter has signed with the Dallas Mavericks.
Year 1 - $10,000,000 Year 2 - $10,500,000 Year 3 - $11,000,000 Year 4 - $11,500,000
Like Miami in real life, though not perhaps to the same degree, the signing in Dallas of one player has led to another, and now another. After Lebron James became the biggest Free Agent move in the history of D5 joined Steve Nash and Brook Lopez in Dallas, the situation has clearly become incredibly appealing to veterans such as Vince who are looking for a championship.
Dallas's main competitors were the Sacramento Kings and Utah Jazz. The Kings could offer all the playing time in the world, but with only the maybe-retired AI, the maybe-retired Yao and the ageing Mike Bibby as big draws despite a strong season in 09/10. That left Utah who has had a tough off season so far this year and the prospect of playing alongside Kobe Bryant and Tyreke Evans. The clash of positions between Kobe and Vince caused a slight issue though, even though technically both can play small forward, and Dallas was just one shooting guard from being a contender. In the end, Vince chose Lebron and the new look Mavericks.
