Chris is currently at a 67. I think everyone here knows he deserves to go much higher. When he enters the game, he brings incredible energy, and still has very good athleticism. His rebounding and Shot Blocking is almost unparalleled for the time he is in the game. Does he have elite offensive skills? No of course not, and I am not saying he should be a mid 80's kind of guy. But what he does, he does incredibly well. I think he should be at least mid-70's, if not in the upper 70's (maybe 77-78 type of thing).
I'll post stats if people want, but just want to get this started for now. He seemed to be talked about by almost everyone last season so I didn't see the need to pull his stats...everyone pretty much knows what he did and what he does.

I think rather than talk about his overall ratings, I feel we should just bump his shot blocking, defensive awareness, dunking and perhaps his offensive rebounding. Whatever this does to his ratings we'll take it as it is? I believe then he will have more of an impact like the one IRL.

Find out for me who he is comparable to in terms of shotblocking and rebounding etc. I'll find those players in the database and make his ratings somewhere near them, NBA Live will then work out his average.

Perhaps he's like a longer, older Josh Smith with no jump shot at all?

Slower than Josh too, and less effective in dunk competitions, but pretty good comparison

Ok....These are his avg per game, keeping in mind he only played 20:36 a game.
Blocking 2.5 Blocks per game. Dwight Howard gets 2.9 a game, BUT he does that in FAR more minutes (35:53). Assuming Dwight is probably rated the best shot blocker in Live, Andersen basically should not be the best shot blocker in Live.
Other comparables: Camby - 2.1 a game in 31:06 a game. Jermaine O'Neal - 2.0 a game in 30:00 a game.
He clearly has the highest Blocks per 36 minutes. If Chris got 36 mpg (like Dwight), he would get 4.5 bpg! I guess his block rating needs to be about 20 points higher than Dwight lol! Or just put it at a 99 and adjust from there...he's amazing with blocking.
Rebounding 6.2 Rebounds per game. Dwight the beast gets 13.8 a game in his 36 mpg. Some rudimentary math by me says that in 36 mpg, Andersen would pull down 11.16 rebounds in equal time to Dwight's 36 minutes.
Other Comparables: David Lee - 11.7 a game in 35 mpg. (Andersen basically equal to this) Emeka Okafor - 10.1 a game in 33 minutes (Andersen better than this) Tim Duncan - 10.7 a game in 33:30 mpg. (Andersen equal to this) Pau Gasol with 9.6 a game in 37 mpg. (Andersen better than this). Camby with 11.1 in 31 mpg (Andersen behind this, and Dwight...seems to be as good or better than everyone else on this list though).
Offensive Rebounding 2.3 OReb per game Dwight gets 4.3 in his 36 mpg...Andersen in 36mpg would get 4.14 in the same time.
Other Comparables: Lee - 3.2 in his 35 mpg (Andersen Better) Okafor - 3.4 in his 33 mpg (Andersen Better) Duncan - 2.7 in his 33:30 mpg (Andersen Better) Gasol - 3.2 in his 37 mpg (Andersen Better) Camby - 2.6 in his 31 mpg (Andersen Better)
BTW, Kevin Love would lead even Dwight Howard with 4.9 ORpg over 36 minutes.
Defensive Awareness Not really sure how to classify this. He seems pretty knowledgeable on the defensive end, is always rotating over to get his blocks. I will say that out of all of these elite block/rebound guys, Andersen would lead them in Steals over 36 minutes.
Other Though he's obviously no offensive genius, he does do well there. His 55% FG% stays with anyone of these dominant big men (a couple are better, but they're only at like 56%). Also, his FT% is at 72. Only Gasol (78%) and Lee (75%) beats him there. Duncan is at 69. Camby also at 72. Okafor down at 59%. Dwight also at 59%. Granted, most of those guys get to the line more than him, but with his minutes adjusted, that would be closer also. He would also be almost exactly equal to all of these guys in Turnovers per 36 minutes, for what that's worth.
Ok, I can't really do much more than that. Best blocker in the game, 3rd best Rebounder, 3rd best Offensive Rebounder, really good Defensive Awareness. You can tell he loves playing defense, and he has worked really hard at being good at it. He doesn't hurt the team with turnovers (Unlike Dwight, who would be at 3 TO per 36, every other guy there is right around 2 TO per 36), and he doesn't miss the shots he should make, just like the rest of those elite guys. And is an above average FT shooter for a big man...really he's close to league average overall, and is a big man.
Give him the respect (and rating) he deserves.

78 is way too high for him. He's proved that he's a good guy to have off the bench but who knows if he can continue to put up those numbers in starter minutes? The highest I would go is 74 which is what Dalembert is rated. Even that's still high for a bench player.

I think as was stated, Boston will try and raise these attributes to where they should appropriately be, and his rating will work out from there.
Chris worked out to the 69th ranked player in total stats (would be higher on averages but can't find it right now) In Yahoo, which is based on stats...which is the biggest basis for our ratings. He looked a helluva lot more consistent than Dalembert last season, who was sometimes only playing like 8 minutes a game he was doing so poorly.
Even saying that, Sammy should probably be like a 76 not a 74. And Andersen should probably be up there too. Put his blocking through the roof, his Offensive rebounding through the roof, his general rebounding just about at the roof, and a great defensive awareness, and go from there.
And to be honest, as long as Andersen's attributes are rated appropriately, I could care less what his actual rating is. If he goes out there and is a monster defensively for 20-25 mpg, that's just fine.

Andersen is now a 75 average after I bumped his Off (99)/Def(82) Rebounding, Quickness (68 to 77) and Blocking (to 99)

His DEF Rebounds might be worth a little more than an 82...he beats just about everyone in the league if you average it out, so probably more like a 88-90...but a 75 with those changes sounds about right for overall rating.
