Recently I posed some questions to the Phoenix Suns GM after what's been a tough week for the franchise. A four game tour of the Eastern Conference saw them return with only two wins and, more importantly, two losses to two of their main rivals at the top of the league, Detroit and Chicago:
Q: Realistically, what do you think your team's chances of winning a title this year are?
PHX: "I think my title chances are good, but we have to start playing as a team and get everybody involved. Diaw and Bell have to step up if we want to have any chance at all."
Q: You've got quite a reputation around the league as a GM who doesn't make many trades. Early on in the season though you traded and start Kirilenko instead of Marion. How do you think that trade worked out for you?
PHX: "I tried not to make many trades unless I think it will really help my team and when I made my only trade of the season I got a great bench player in Fisher and a star in the making in Bogut. Kirilenko brought a much needed defensive presence to our lineup and I think it is working out good right now, but next year is when the trade will work out the best for me."
Q: Thanks for your time.
PHX: "Thanks for the interview!"
