New Jersey sends:
G/F Kevin Durant $5,250,000 - $5,500,000- $5,500,000
Miami sends:
F Josh Smith $13,150,000 - $14,150,000 - $14,950,000 - $15,250,000 - $16,150,000 TOR 1st 2009
NJN has the cap space.

I'm curious to hear why NJ would do this, especially considering how well KD has played in Jersey.

He came to me with the deal, and I think it isn't bad.
Smith has been pretty good in Atlanta, plus he gets a pick out of it and has a solid combo forward locked up long term.

New Jersey needs someone to build around, Durant is someone he can, Smith not so much, he's more of a complementary player. On top of that Durant is going to be making 1/3 of what Smith will be making over the next 3 seasons. The pick has little value considering the depth of this draft.

FWIW, I agree with San Antonio. Even with all the magic NJ has shown he has, this just doesn't seem like that good a move. Durant is putting up MVP numbers for him, and is still improving in real life. Josh Smith doesn't really have high BBIQ, and his athletism can only get him so far.

I dont need to hear why NJ is doing this. I reject.
Terrible trade from all accounts for NJ.
Miami is getting: *1st and foremost, the better player *The younger player *The player with a relatively low salary for his stature. + Hes under contract for 3 more years. * Josh Smith's contract is pretty bad for a player that hasn't improved the last 2 seasons. *cap space
Makes ZERO sense.

SEE THIS IS THE BULLSHIT I WAS TALKING ABOUT, BY BAILING OUT TO YOUR BUDDIES SO YOU HAVE NO ****ING RIGHT TO TALK NJ, YOUR DOING BAIL OUT TRADES AND YOU DAMM SURE KNOW WHY YOUR DOING IT, so don't blast IND and LAL for doing what's best for their teams
and if IND does make a bad trade there is a thing called a TRADE COMMITTEE that can take care of that mess.

Nope. Just thought it might be realistic with the moves you've made. And you probably would've had success with that too.
