pick the winner of draft lottery but also let's put a twist to this, pick one other team YOU BELIEVE got lucky and won the draft.
Same goes for loser, the loser of draft and a team that YOU BELIEVE lost a chance in the draft.
Winner Portland Trail Blazers
Team that is winner because of luck: NYK and their fans
Loser: Boston Celtics
Team that lost because of bad luck: Minnisota Timberwolves and Kevin Garnett.

you know whats funny, months ago doc rivers said himself that the draft lottery shouldn't be weighted and all the teams should have the same exact chance of getting #1, but when he gets number, he whines and complains about it like an idiot.
I do think the should stop weighting the lottery though because that would stop the tanking and teams' records would be more evenly distributed and actually show how good the team is

yeah but what if a team that is a few games away from the playoffs and got oden or durant that would be terrible

not entirely...balance will never be accomplished in the league and why reward those who suck at their jobs? The clippers are the best team that could've gotten oden, but i still don't think that would have done bad because by the time oden is dominating, cassel and mobley and maybe maggette or brand probably won't be there and their team won't be that good. but when you load team's like portland with great young talent, you shift the balance of the league in portlands favor even more so than you would with LA because portland can dominate for 10 years with them

I think you're right.

On one hand some people think it should be based entirely off reverse standing, on the other some people think all lottery teams should have an equal chance. Personally I think the current system is a good one.
I just wish they'd simplify it and just run it like an actual lottery, completely televised, so you could see the balls bouncing around and then drawn, starting with the first pick. If a team had two balls come up you'd just draw another ball until you had three winners.
I also think we should hold a lottery draft here.
Find an online lottery site, allocate a certain number of balls for each team based on their records, so the bottom team would get ie. 12 of 49 balls, next worse team perhpas 9, etc., and see what numbers come up. If two teams both had a number come up then go by season record, same if one or two teams took all the balls, just hand the highest loser the third overall. Hold tiebreakers prior to the draft if necessary. Like the NBA the bottom team would be guaranteed a fourth pick, 2nd worse a 5th, etc. and it's as simple as finding an online lottery site and declaring a date for it. We're doing it in my fantasy league over three days, as I hadn't thought of how to do it in one go at the time. Anyhow, the 8th worst team (of 18) beat the odds and took the first, and in a few hours we'll find out who lands the second. On Wednesday we'll learn who came third. Next offseason we'll go with the system I detailed above and hold it in one go.
An idea for the league, dunno if everyone likes it or not though.
