This trade needs the Utah/San Antonio trade to be accepted 1st b/c thats where Im getting the Spurs 07 1st rounder.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Utah Trades:
71 - Nick Collison - $2,501,070 07 San Antonio 1st rounder
Total: $2,501,070
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Indiana Trades:
76 - Danny Granger - $1,417,800
Total: $1,417,800
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Indiana has plenty of cap space to take on the extra $1 mil in salary. The Jazz get the slightly younger Granger a player with alot of potential that would give the Jazz a more athletic SF/PF.
The Pacers get more of a true PF in Collison & another 07 1st rounder. It is the Spurs pick, but this years draft is extremely deep so a late 1st rounder will still get a team a good player.
As GM of Utah, I accept

I accept, it is hard to trade Granger but the thing is I'm not winning with him. The 1st round pick I get will replace the one I traded to get J-Rich.

I don't like this at all from Indiana's perspective. The first rounder will be really late, and Collison is a huge downgrade from Granger.

I'd like to hear from Indiana again before I can accept this because the Spurs first rounder definitely doesn't compensate for Indie's one he lost to get JRich, and Indiana's not losing because of Granger but rather the whole team and Granger's almost the only one left with upside.
Indiana, do you think you're going to get someone good enough to balance out this trade with the Spurs 1st rounder?

The more I think about this the less I like it, SA pick wont even be in the top 24.

How is Collison a huge downgrade? Collison avgd 10 ppg & 8 rpg this year. Granger avgd 14 ppg & 5 rpg. U cant use the "potential" argument b/c Collison has only played 1 more year in the NBA than Granger so its not like Collison has maxed out all of his ability either.
If its really viewed as that unfair Ill change the SA pick to my own. My pick is currently 15-20 range
Edit - Also check out the realgm.com player rankings from this past season. Danny Granger - 109 / Nick Collison - 108

The reason that Granger is looked at with more upside is because he is going to be one of the main options on a shitty, and I mean shitty team. Collison will be an above average player on an up and coming team with guys who are going to get a lot more shots than him.

Granger was a main option on a shitty team this year & those were his numbers. None the less I guess this trade isnt going to happen so back to the drawing board

Sorry Utah, when a GM has a change of mind on their own trade I can't let it go through.
Indiana, you should know that in the past I would've sacked a GM for this much lack of foresight. Many of your trades have been questionable. Think about them more in the future before you accept them.
