come on there is no reason on earth why Chicago shouldn't ATLEAST be in the finals.
even I was rooting for Rio De Janerio, and believed they should get the games, (WHY THE **** have them in one specific city just give it to entire country, I sware it's stupid I tell ya.) because South America never had one.
but for Chicago to be OUSTED in the first round, it's rigged I tell ya it's damm rigged, especially over MADRID considering that LONDON is hosting the 2012 olympics.

The IOC probably had their reasons. I wonder if the United States imperialistic tendencies were taken into account.

The IOC probably had their reasons. I wonder if the United States imperialistic tendencies were taken into account. It probably did. but it's the OLYMPICS a freaking GAME, not a G-20 SUMMIT. it's SPORTS, it's a GAME. why bring politics into this, and that's what they are doing. the IOC (let's call it what it is the EOC (European Olympic Committee)) is doing their best to make sure USA does not get the bid for anything, WC or Olympics. the EOC has a deep distaste for anything and everything American and this started from the World Wars to the European Union creating Euro to counter USA's dollar. yes USA created PLENTY AS IN 90 PERCENT SELF INFLICTED DAMAGE against THEMSELVES, but still why bring politics into this. and another thing I hate is WHY does it have to be a SPECIFIC city, why can't it be like World Cup and just be given to a nation. and why not have a JOINT BID, maybe not between countries but specific CITIES. I mean it's supposed to be the Beijjing Olympics but EQUESTRIAN was played in HONG KONG. and Chicago is diverse and very welcoming of people. I say for 2020 Olympics they give Chicago another chance, if not let the city of Boston have it.

Haha Brazil rules fuck yeah! congrats to you guys though, you guys earned it, I am surprised South America didn't have the Olympics before this. Another thing I am surprised is that Brasilia and Sau Paulo wasn't nominated ahead of Rio. where would you rate those 3 cities in terms of popularity between all the people since you live in Brazil.

I'm glad Rio de Janerio got it... I would much rather watch the olympics and get embraced in a South American culture than watching it in Chicago where nothing would be new

I would think politics does come into it somewhat. Brasil is one of the many up-and-coming nations of the South Americas, characterised by their enigmatic president, which is also shunning the damaging interventions made by the United States under the guise of charity.
I'm kinda anti-USA a lot of the time ;D

I heard Michelle did all her stupid "diversity/it's all about me" shit, I'm happy the rest of the world didn't go for it...gives me the audacity to hope! I don't care who gets, I kinda agree with NJ it would mean something more to South America, but I'm sure happy they didn't give into Obama's crap.

Rio de Janeiro is probably the best cuz there are nice beaches, great places to go (really beautiful city if u go in the right places) and it already has a lot of places that can be used for the olympics, while Brasilia (where I live in) isnt a place for tourism (but its the best city for LIVING) and doesnt has anything really special for the olympics (it would need a lot of work while Rio already has the Maracana (u must know whats this) and other things) Sao Paulo is fine, but it isnt a really beautiful place and the pollution there is in a high and advanced way lol. But I'm glad that RJ won, I was almost sure that Tokyo had it
