Rumors around the league as of March 16...
Grant Hill wants out?
Reports last week coming out of Charlotte suggests that Grant Hill requested a trade directly with Charlotte management. When asked about these rumors Hill had no comment.
In other news, the Charlotte GM was quoted as saying, "With NJ falling out the picture we feel that we are ready to take over 1st place. We have a few teams to get away from (Atlanta, Miami, Detroit) but i think we can push it and win the East."
Happy days in Atlanta
Atlanta is off to its best start in years, and is sitting near the top of the Eastern Conference. With a new GM now Atlanta can continue to improve. During a recent interview the new GM, former Miami Heat Scout Mike Blue, said he is shopping Jose Calderon unless he can step up his play.
Kobe welcomes return to California
Kobe knew he was going to get traded after Josh Barber, the NJ GM, started trading away his fellow teammates, and he figured he wouldn't land on a contending team.
"Barber is smart. I knew I wouldn't go to any team that I could put over the edge and make them a threat for the title. Hopefully this new GM in Sacramento can build a winner here. I'm excited about my opportunities here."
Currently the new GM in Sacramento is shopping troubled guard Monta Ellis for a more "pure" point guard to join Kobe in the back court.
Boston manager upset about lack of performance
The Boston GM is fairly upset about his players under-performance. Since all-star Chris Bosh's arrival the Celtics have not even eclipsed the .500 mark. Because of this, the GM is now shopping Carlos Boozer furiously for a young all-star to partner with Bosh and Deron Williams, but has failed. It appears Boozer's trade value is not as high as Boston's GM would have hoped.
Minny finally going in the right direction?
The Timberwolves may have finally gotten their act together. It can apparently be attributed to an inspiring locker room speech by Amare Stoudemire after a frustrating loss. Stoudemire's outstanding performances and inspiring words have trickled down through the rest of the team and the 'Wolves are climbing through the West now, fighting to make the playoffs. The Minnesota GM reports that absolutely no one is available.
Fumes in Miami?
James Hunter, the Miami Heat GM, reportedly canceled practice on Saturday to have a team meeting in his office.
Tom Izzo, the head coach of the Heat was present and told reporters that [Hunter] told the players he was incredibly disappointed with their performances as of late and that they need to pick it up. He said that with the amount of talent on the team this much losing is unacceptable. But Izzo wasn't exempt from the bashing. Apparently Hunter singled him out and told him he better get his team under control or he might be out of a job.
In a related report, all players are currently available.
