In what appeared to be a surprise move by Denver GM Low, the Nuggets traded their sharpshooter Michael Redd for floor general Baron Davis.
Although it was rumored for quite a while that the Nuggets are trying to move Redd, and the player himself want out, the deal with the Sixers came out of nowhere.
In his final game for the Nuggets, Redd scored a game-high 23 points from 6-14 shooting, plus 11-14 from the line. We caught the player himself outside the Pepsi Center after the game, " I am quite happy to see the back of Low. Honestly, the sight of him make me quite sick. He wanted Tyson Chandler to take more shots per game than me. And for me that's the final straw. I've been holding it in for sometime now and I'm grateful that Philadelphia came in for me."
When told about Redd's comments, Low said, "Truthfully, I am hurt. I enjoyed having Redd around, he's more than hust a shooter, he passes the ball well and he's a good locker room present. Plus come clutch times you know who I'd want to have the ball. I always thought the feeling was mutual, but in reality that is far from the truth. I still wish him all the best in Philadelphia."
It seems now that the Nuggets have gotten Baron Davis, they are very happy with their line-up and are not actively seeking any more trades.

Philadelphia Inquirer: Michael, how do you feel about going to a rebuilding team (by admission) and having not having a legit chance at a title or even a playoff birth? You are 30 years old, you seem a little eager to go to a rebuilding team...was there really THAT much friction in Denver?

Redd: "You want an honest answer or do you want a diplomatic answer? Alright, here's the dead truth, since at my age the chances of me returning to Denver are next to zero; I was happy last season when Melo and I were taking the majority of shots. But ever since the inception of a certain new GM, my time with the ball has been severely cut and frankly that is not going to work for me. So I'd rather go to a rebuilding team where I am the star. Plus I think I have a thing or two to pass on to the rooks."

FYI, Michael Redd was on the Sonics the entire season last year.
