have you lost your mind IT WAS BECAUSE OF KERR THE SUNS IS FUCKED. they made a dumb trade for marion by getting the fat bastard, and now they made another bad trade for J-Rich who plays NO DEFENSE and is a solid Offensive player which works with Mike D, BUT NOT TERRY PORTER who is a DEFENSIVE HEAD COACH. they gotta decide ONE OF TWO THINGS right now either trade Amare and J. Rich and GO FOR THE HOMERUN RIGHT NOW, or trade Nash and Shaq and START REBUILDING and keep Amare happy. and I am saying this as a Lakers fan who wants to see PHX suffer, but come on it was all KERR and only KERR.

LMAO ^^^^^^
Plus DAL, Marion on the Suns wasn't going to win jack for the Suns. We saw the smae story every year. They would win 55+ games in the regular season and lose in the playoffs. Kerr made a risk/reward type trade. Its too bad it hasn't worked out for him.

Marion wanted out of Phoenix, you should be praising Kerr for getting Shaq so the Suns can stay competitive. And not many players can match up against Marion's massive $20 million contract either so Kerr basically got his hands tied to whether who he can and cannot trade for.
Shaq does ruin the tempo, but if you watch any Suns game right now, opponents are hesitant to attack the basket with Shaq in the paint and it's very evident.

Yea, Portland seems like the most likely place, just in terms of who/what they can give.
Also Atlanta, in a weird way, could swing it.

The Amare to Chicago rumor is starting to grow legs. Its starting to be reported here in Chicago that Paxson and Kerr are and have been in discussions.
A quote from a blurb I read earlier today;
"If Kerr and assistant GM David Griffin do trade Stoudemire, a four-time All-Star, they want a combination of expiring contracts, a talented young player, preferably a forward, and draft picks"
As mentioned earlier in this thread, the Suns wont trade him to another West team. That leaves Chicago, NY, Atlanta, and Miami as the options that could supply a young forward, expirings, and picks.
Why not New York? The Kerr and Sarver relationship with D'Antoni ended poorly. I don't see Kerr helping out NY. David Lee would be the center of the package if there were to be discussions.
Why not Miami? Riley has already come out and said he is not interested in Amare. Marion has a huge expiring, but PHX would not take him back due to a strained relationship prior to his departure.
That leaves Chicago and Atlanta. Chicago can center a deal around Deng or Tyrus Thomas + picks and expiring contracts of Gooden & Hughes (2010)
Atlanta doesn't have any big expirings outside of Bibby, but they could center a deal around Josh Smith.

Amare + Rose in Chicago. God damn that'd be an exciting time to be a Bulls fan.

The Suns are really in a peculiar situation here. They have Shaq who obviously is not a player to build a franchise around right now, solely because of his age. Then, they have Nash and Amare. Nash is aging and expires soon, and Amare is unhappy in Phoenix. Then there is J-Rich, who I believe is very overrated.
So, pretty much Kerr has two options. The first is to stick with this and hope for the best. The second is to go into rebuild mode. The Western Conference is very tough, and there is no way they will win with this core 4, so I think the rebuild mode is the best option.

sports.espn.go.com/nba/columns/story?columnist=stein_marc&page=tradetalk-090205Damn, Phoenix is selling Amare that low? Outlaw, Bayless, picks, and RLEC isn't much, even coming from a bias POV. And that or TT, Noah, picks, and Drew Gooden's EC? IMO, they could get more, even with the 2010 FA nearing.

If Kerr sells him off for that little, he might be in serious consideration for "Worst GM in the League" status. Definitely edging closer to McHale atleast.

Man I hope it is true. Then we're back to a nice Lakers / Bulls / Celtics domination like in the later 80s/early 90s ;D If only New York could get their shit together for once it'd be a classic big-market led NBA again!

Imagine how competitive the East would be, if Bosh went to Miami too: Boston - Garnett, Allen, Pierce Orlando - Dwight, Hedo, Shard, Nelson Cleveland - Lebron, Mo Chicago - Amare, Rose Miami - Bosh, Wade

Post by straitballin on Feb 7, 2009 12:01:19 GMT
Bosh and Wade would be killer
but no what would be unsuspected if the Celtics could do a trade for Amare, something with Perkins and others(not rondo or pierce obviously), but too bad i dont see that happening

lol well that would be amazing because then we'd have a guy to build around after the big-3 get too old to cut it anymore.

BOS HE WON'T BE EVEN SECOND FOR WORST GM, HE WOULD BE ABSOLUTELY THE WORST GM.
And on top of that HE WOULD GET FIRED FOR THIS, because HE IS GIVING AWAY AMARE FOR FREE FOR GUESS WHO THE TEAM HE PLAYED FOR WITH AIR JORDAN.
If that happens expect PHX Suns fans to send a HITMAN to take out Steve Kerr.
ATLEAST with McHale he got Al Jefferson who is SOMETHING better then nothing.
ATLEAST C. Wallace got Darrell Arthur and Marc Gasol and a BULK load of cap space from the Gasol trade.
what will KERR get from trading Amare for BS.

PHX doesn't want Deng. Like I said in the other thread, they are looking for a massive salary dump. Adding Deng and his 72 million dollar contract does nothing for them. They will continue to be mediocre. They are looking to tear it down and build from scratch.
