I think we should use this thread instead of cluttering the draft thread. New Yorks Projected LineupOden- Brand- Beasley- Ellis (Miami doesn't have a GM to re-sign him )/Gordon- Rose God help us

If the Rockets wanted Mayo, there were other options to get both Mayo AND Beasley 1) Trade down from 2nd overall pick to 3rd overall and get another asset (Stuckey, 16th overall?) - They don't get Beasley but they still have Mayo for a cheaper contract and another solid asset 2) Trade the 4th overall packaged with one of their other first rounders, (8th, 10th, 11th, 15th, 28th, 30th) for New York's 3rd overall pick. - At #3 New York was projected to take Mayo, moving down to 4th he can take Bayless or Westbrook which were both similarly rated with Mayo. - Now Houston owns the 2nd overall pick and 3rd overall pick, take Beasley at 2 and Mayo at 3. Either way, I think taking Mayo at #2 was a mistake

Yea Brand is more likely to re-sign with Utah than most other free agents are with their teams. There's a lot more Small Forwards coming up for re-signing this year so I can forsee a: Oden - Beasley - <signing> - <signing> - Rose team to be more likely.

You reference a team's salaries for next year with re-signings. New York has roughly $38 million space

That will give me enough money to resign Brand

A few notes about this thread:
-Those are good ideas San Antonio, but I was content with picking Mayo if Houston decided to pick Beasley at #2.
-Judging by how last year went, I'll be fortunate to land one big name free agent, so assuming I sign two guys is easier said than done.
-And yeah, it finally does look like my master plan is paying off. It was a rough first two seasons though, but hopefully we can right the ship this year.

New York has roughly $38 million space I believe that NJ meant Utah... and since that this year's OSFA is going to have good SG/SFs then I can be pretty sure that Childress wont be resigned...ill have like 20 million free and ready to be used [beer]

Thankfully the Pacers and Warriors had both submitted draft boards, so we're moving at a decent pace for the draft now. Finally!
I'll be damned if Milwaukee doesn't take Eric Gordon! The Bucks need a true SG!

Jesusweasels!!! Check out the draft which Houston had eventually: OJ Mayo Kevin Love Russell Westbrook Joe Alexander Brandon Rush Roy Hibbert and Mario Chalmers
Not just all around great talent, but steals too. Westbrook and Chalmers fell way lower than they should have.

I dunno what Houston was trying to do, he traded away his franchise for picks and then traded his rookies for mediocre players like AP?
