I think that after overcoming the shellshock of seeing this trade it is somewhat fair and acceptable. LAL may be getting a little bit of a better deal if others are a bit skeptical

i think that rashard lewis's player option levels out any unfairness

I really don't want to accept this.
I can see that talent for talent this trade is fair, but I can't stand the Lakers' attitude towards the player who helped his team more than any other, the player who without the Lakers wouldn't have been close to the playoffs with, the player who is a symbol of the Lakers franchise, the NBA's most popular team.
I don't understand why the Lakers GM even picked the Lakers in the first place if he hated Kobe so much.
I know Lakers is gonna say his team is going nowhere with Kobe etc.etc.etc. But we all know this trade, although technically fair, just seems wrong!

I love the Lakers and wanted them in the first place, and the current GM even offered to switch spots with me, so he could have taken the Mavs while I have the Lakers.
But I wanted to start fresh, I had picked the Lakers in the last 5 sim leagues I joined up with, so it was time for me to start with something new, I chose between starting with a strong franshise with DAL or start a team from ground up with the Bobcats.
and if I was the current LAL GM, I would have only wanted Kobe for Lebron James and Tim Duncan.

Im going to accept this deal. I think if u are trading one of the best players in the game, u should be compensated accordingly & I feel LAL were. Seattle gets Kobe & Kwame balances the trade out IMO

utah and new orleans accepted, boston declined...whats the decision?

I decline for the same reason as Boston. That's just discracing the NBA in my opinion. And why would you rather have Allen and Lewis? It's not like they've done anything in Seattle with in my opinion a better supporting cast then Kobe has.

What does the NBA have to do with this sim league?

I think Chicago meant 'NBA' as being synonymous with this league too.

The real wolves ARE looking to trade Garnett, the Lakers have won 3 titles with the proven, semi-new star Kobe.

Yeah, those Bosnian news papers are just coated with articles on Kobe wanting out of LA. The Wolves trading KG is a real possibilty, if Seattle offered the Lakers Jesus Christ himself for Kobe, they would say no.

"I just told [Kupchak] this summer's about getting us to an elite level, doing whatever it takes to make it happen," Bryant said. "This is a competitive city. We're used to winning titles, not just winning games and being in the first round. We want to win championships. Now's the time. That's one of the things when I re-signed here, they promised they would build a contender and build a contender now. I don't want to have to wait any more than I already have" nba.aolsportsblog.com/2007/05/06/kobe-bryant-is-against-the-lakers-youth-movement/there are the words of kobe! and this is not the NBA! this is GAME! i think you dont have right to tell anything about this trade!!!!!! you cheated on garnett trade!!! which normal person would give KG for some bunch of idiots???

I think the main reason why I rejected this deal is because it wouldn't happen in real life. Superstar players like Kobe only leave if: - Their destination is a big-market team (Lakers, Bulls or Knicks).
- Their destination is a championship contender (Mavericks, Heat, Suns, Spurs, Pistons etc).
Seattle is neither a contender, nor a big-market team, and that's the main reason why I don't like this deal. edit: The main reason I created this league is to strive for realism and that's where the philosophy of GMs like myself and GMs like the Lakers clash.

If it's a straight split 2-2 then it's a reject. I didn't move this to rejected though because I thought there was room to discuss it.

i reject this trade, you could just erase this topic...
Boston, you dont need Moderators to help you with trades, if you dont like the trade, it is going to be rejected for sure... now i will trade kobe either to Knicks or Bulls, because you said kobe can be traded there.
GM's of chicago and new york should thank you (one of them) because they are going to get kobe
