LeBron James will be taking his talents to Big D to join the Mavs. He signs a five year contract. Yr 1 $17,000,000 Yr 2 $18,870,000 Yr 3 $20,945,700 Yr 4 $23,249,727 Yr 5 $25,807,197 Total:$105,872,624 Almost everyone made an offer that was higher than that contract but signing him to anything more is just incrementally more and more unrealistic. This deal is more than the max deal LeBron could have signed in real life and is significantly more than the deal he actually signed. So don't be complaining about how your team offered more As for the decision making process all the teams were looked at and only a few were immediately eliminated *cough* New Jersey, I mean what? The general concensus was between Dallas and Washington with a few other teams thrown in here and there. The tipping points for Dallas were that he is a dedicated GM (he has been around since 2007(not saying you aren't WAS but years of service accounts for something)) and that he will still have a large amount of cap space after LeBron signs.

The one thing I don't like about this is you bring up being dedicated, Dallas has only been a member of this league for 17 days more then me. ( my account started on May 24, 2007 and his on May 7, 2007)

40 mill to sign free agents (a little under 20 if I signed Lebron) + better team + better contract offer and I still lost! FML!

I'm not trying to complain but I think Dwight Howard and Chauncey Billups is a very nice core, plus a very solid contract offered. Dallas has brook lopez and nash, but thats like a weaker version of D12 and mr. big shot. What happens, happens however and I'm ready to move on, just a lil disappointed.

But honestly I have to say I think you were overlooked throughout the process (for me at least). Looking back I would have made the same decision and my vote still would have been for Dallas but I don't think you got the consideration you deserved. Joining the Mavs with Steve Nash, Brook Lopez and millions of dollars in flexibility is the right decision in my mind.

He is narcissistic and would go to a big market. I give him all the credit in the world for joining the Heat and not being selfish and going to the place with the best chance to win. But building the LeBron brand is something he works very hard at doing and doing it in Sacramento is much harder than in Dallas.

I kind of agree with warriors, my team is pretty much ready anyways. With Lebron and using the rest of my cap remaining and MLE money. I'd be good most likely. So it should have been a case for who had the best team to work with not who had an okay team but also had a lot of cap space. To be honest there isn't much else to sign now anyways.

I think as a PA MEM looked at 5 things (same things I would like at as a FA) 1. Playing time/position (both go hand in hand) 2. Money 3. Supporting Cast 4. Location (big market or no) 5. WINNING (history of winning) To me 4 out of those 5 factors has to be key for any FA to sign with anyone, I think playing time, money, supporting cast is set for most teams. The key factors would be WINNING tradition and Location. dynastyfive.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=media&action=display&thread=5526Most of the teams EXCEPT for DET, PHX, Utah, NJ, and GSW HAVE lower winning percentage then I do (only those teams above have higher winning percentage then me). GSW loses out because he's a old GM taking over a new team so for a guy like LBJ, I think he prefers stable situations, but GSW by FAR HAS THE BEST OVERALL SUPPORTING CAST FOR LBJ. DET doesn't have the adequate supporting cast for LBJ, he has a nice one but not a great one NJ would be the best fit, but has no cap space PHX is completely rebuilding and West, Gallo, and Brooks are nice pieces, but not great yet. So the only serious threat would be Utah, Utah has everything except for the location factor. But here's another underlying factor, LBJ AND KB are rivals, why would LBJ go sign with a rival, that would be basically accepting defeat, and admit to everyone that KB is better then him. My team also has made the playoffs 3 out of 4 times, and the one year I missed the playoffs (39-43), I only missed the playoffs by 2 games (didn't help AK-47 got hurt for 8 weeks middle of season). You can call these reasons crazy, but some of it makes sense, others might not.

grats Dal...i think lebron and cuban woould be a good fit Thanks man, honestly I thought I had a chance with Wade as well, but I think the moment NYK did the Pau Gasol trade, it pretty much destroyed my chances to get him.
