Shaq on the Move Again?
Reports from several D5 GMs have stated that the Charlotte Bobcats are actively shopping Shaquille O'Neal and his $20 million dollar expiring contract. There is no report of where Shaq may land at this point but a source from a D5 team stated that the Diesel could be headed out to a team in the Atlantic Division that has not been any stranger to the playoffs over the past several seasons. The source also said Shaq would be joining a team that felt they contend for a D5 Championship the next season.
Pacers Interested in Several Soon to be Free Agents
Rumors are saying the Pacers are very interested in offering some type of package to the Celtics for a possible sign and trade for Chris Bosh. D5 has never allowed sign and trade deals before so they would most likely have to try and work out a deal for Bosh's expiring contract before the salary charts progress at the midnight deadline tomorrow. The Pacers would then have to try and resign Bosh in free agency.
A league source also stated that the Pacers are very interested in trying to sign soon to be Laker free agent Rudy Gay.
League sources stated that they felt Gay would be possibly interested because of the chance to play with John Wall and Al Horford.
Mavericks Have Their Sights Set on Everyone
Sources from around D5 have reported that the Mavericks are going to try and offer contracts to just about every possible big name out there. Sources have reported that the Mavs are prepared to offer deals to Kobe Byant, LeBron James, Tim Duncan, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Vince Carter, Rajon Rondo, Rudy Gay, and Carlos Boozer just to name a few.
The Mavs are now also going to be faced with the challenge of re-signing Steve Nash who is also a soon to be free agent. The Mavs GM is optimistic that they can re-sign Nash and that by doing so they will attract other top free agent talent to Dallas to play with Steve Nash.
Grizzlies Plan to Sign PG
A source from inside the Grizzlies organization reported that they are planning on using their full MLE this off-season to try and land a veteran PG. Who will be available is yet to be known but two names being tossed around in the air are Steve Blake and Chris Duhon.
