Here's my predictions.
West
1st Round
LAL
OKC
- LAL in 5. Would be nice to see the young guns pull out one playoff win atleast.
SAS
DAL
- DAL in 7. I think the Spurs decade-long dominance of the South West will finally come to an end in Dallas.
POR
PHX
- PHX in 6. I like Portland, but Nash is somehow firing on all cylinders like he was in his MVP years and Amare has really become an absolute beast offensively since Christmas.
UTA
DEN
- UTA in 7. Denver really should win, but they've struggled since the break with George Karl being out, which is a pity cos they're probably my favorite team in the league right now. Deron playing like an MVP and Boozer in a contract year though.
2nd Round
LAL
UTA
- LAL in 6. Too much class in LA.
PHX
DAL
- DAL in 7. I think the remnants of the awesome Phoenix team of late last decade are doomed to never see a Finals appearance. Dallas also has a ton of depth.
Western Conference Finals
LAL
DAL
- LAL in 6. Both teams are stacked at each position, but LAL has the pedigree to make it to the Finals yet again.
East
1st Round
CLE
CHI
- CLE in 6. I think the Bulls will give them a run for their money, but I don't forsee them every truly challenging the Lebronaliers.
BOS
MIA
- BOS in 7. I don't have as much faith in Boston as I used to do. I didn't think KG's decline would come this quickly after Ainge brought him in, but I did forsee a tiny window to get a championship and it looks like that's exactly what's happened. Nevertheless I do see them beating Miami, purely because Wade isn't enough.
ATL
MIL
- ATL in 4. I think Bogut's still out, and he's been a major factor for the Bucks this year. Atlanta's clearly built a strong team too.
ORL
CHA
- ORL in 7. Charlotte's defense is brilliant, but it's not enough to get past a team as stacked as Orlando.
2nd Round
CLE
BOS
- CLE in 5. I think a long series against the Heat will have taken its toll on my old Celtics. The Cavs are far too awesome to be beaten more than once.
ATL
ORL
- ORL in 7. Atlanta may indeed win this matchup, but I have to give the edge to the team with the 6-11 beast who'll win DPOY only because the MVP has to go to Lebron.
Eastern Conference Finals
CLE
ORL
- CLE in 6. Again, too much depth and quality in Cleveland, and enough talent and size in the frontcourt to hold off Dwight whilst Lebron dominates.
Finals
LAL
CLE
- CLE in 7. I think this will be a Finals matchup for the ages. Kobe approaching the decline period of his career, Lebron taking the torch from him as the obvious choice for league number 1 player. Artest will guard the hell out of Lebron, but it wont be enough.
