If Portland doesn't return by the set time he will pick Jason Thompson, who I personally think is gonna kick ass in the NBA.

With the #16 overall pick in the 2008 NBA draft, the New York Knicks select Robin Lopez, center from Stanford University.
The Miami Heat are now on the clock. --------------------------
Stu Scott: Wow. I don't think anyone had Robin Lopez going to the Knicks, especially this early in the draft. It just doesn't make any sense with Oden, Lee, and now Michael Beasley already in the frontcourt. Jay, am I crazy, or is this chorus of boos here at the Garden well deserved?
Jay Bilas: I've got to agree with you for the most part, Stu. I did have Lopez on my top 20 available prospects, but I just don't understand why the Knicks would be the team to take him. There were better players still on the board like Darell Arthur and J.J. Hickson who both could have filled that same backup PF/C role that Lopez appears to be drafted for.
Stu Scott: With that said, I'm hearing that ESPN insider Ric Bucher can shed some light on the situation. What do you have for us Ric?
Ric Bucher: The word back here is that this pick is going to be traded to the Charlotte Bobcats, and then to another team not yet known. Donnie Walsh is looking to shed some more salary and has jettisoned the contract of Tim Thomas along with this pick for a pair of second rounders.
