There are a few trades I look back on and think "hmm that wasn't so smart!" But then there are trades that make me happy and warm all over ;D
My favorite trade, that I can remember, is my trade with Dallas, it was a no brainer:
Dallas sends:
(73) Jason Williams - $8,937,500 (67) Andre Barrett - $1,795,000 (63) Leon Powe - $500,000
Total: $11,232,500
Boston Sends: (73) Wally Szczerbiak - $12,000,000 - $13,000,000 (56) Allen Ray - $687,456 - $687,456
Total: $12,687,456
I got rid of Szczerbiak's hideous salary and a nobody, and get $11,232,500 of expiring contracts in return. Not to mention Leon Powe who I may re-sign.
What aboot you guys?

Miller's and Dalembert's defence have been key to my success this season

My best trade would probably have to be the one where I traded Eddy Curry for Expirings, Rashad McCants, and a couple of first round picks. One of those picks was Rodney Stuckey and the other looks like it will be top 5 this year. ;D
A close second would be trading Renaldo Balkman for Louis Williams prior to the start of this past real NBA season. Balkman had a disappointing sophomore season and Williams had a break-out year.

Dallas sends:
Marcus Camby-$7,800,000, 8,000,000, 8,000,000, 7,650,000 Baron Davis $15,070,000, 16,440,000, 17,180,000 G Buckner 3,240,741, 3,500,000, 3,759,259, 4,018,518, 07 2nd rd. of DEN
(Buckner had to be included for salary purposes)
Total salary: 27,940,000
GS Warriors send: Luke Ridnour (72) --- $6,500,000 --- $6,500,000 --- $6,500,000 Pau Gasol (86): --- $13,709,375 --- $15,080,312 --- $16,451,250 --- $17,822,187 Antoine Walker $8,547,000 --- $9,320,500 --- $10,094,000 (TO) --- $10,867,500 07 1st rd. of SEA
Total Salary: 28,756,365
Not only do I get a top-5 center and a top-5 point guard, but I got to unload Antione Walker's and Luke Ridnour's God-awful contract.
While Seattle's pick ended up being the No. 3 or 4, I can't remember, Dallas took Michael Conley so it was win-win for me all around. No way is my team where it is without Baron Davis running the show and Camby's defense and rebounding down low.

To Bobcats Al Horford C Smith L Walton 1st rounder 08 Memphis Grizzlies 2nd Rounder 08 Memphis Grizzlies 2nd rounder 09 Memphis Grizzlies Brian Cardinal To Memphis Grizzlies SF - 89 - Paul Pierce C - 65 - Chris Mihm i love this trade, i didnt want to win and i got great young players to work with. Plus i could maybe re-sign Paul in the off season (as i hoped for) contrary to popular opinion, this trade wasn't bad for me...sure i lost horford, but thats pretty much the only big thing i gave up. smith and walton were third and fourth string players on my team so they weren't missed at all. second rounders are practically useless to me cuz my team is so deep that none of them would have made my team. Getting rid of cardinal was actually a bonus. the first rounder will probably be a mid round pick so no big loss there. basically it turned into this: horford (79) mem first rounder for Stephen Jackson (80) nene (72) battie (64) ...no regrets here

The only other team I control outside of D5, over at 'Rim Rockers'. The Toronto GM there has just offered me:
Josh Howard + Luis Scola + Toronto 1st Rounder
<->
Brandon Roy
I'm in the process of shopping around though, trying to see if I can swap Josh Howard for a decent shooting guard, cos I'll be a bit short without Roy and would prefer a true SG rather than a SF who can play that position.

Wow! That trade is rape. LOL. Roy is good and has a ton of potential, but with Josh, Scola, and the 1st rounder, you're killing him. The 1st might be really good too because he's possibly losing 2 starters.

I managed to include a third team in the deal now:
(Me) Portland receives: Tracey McGrady Luis Scola TOR 09 1st
Toronto receives: Brandon Roy Raef Lafrentz (needed for salary reasons)
Lakers receives: Josh Howard POR 09 1st Earl Watson Johan Petro
So basically I'm making this deal: Brandon Roy + Raef Lafrentz + Earl Watson + Johan Petro + Portland 2009 1st
<->
Tracey McGrady + Luis Scola + Toronto 2009 1st

Hmm, maybe you're right. He is an older, salary-cap-eating, injury-prone shooting guard compared to Roy...

But T-Mac kills it in simulations and with the addition of Scola and a swap of 1st rounders (you're probably getting a higher pick), it sounds worth it.

Oh well That Toronto GM got fired and the whole thing fell through, typical Yeah thats not surprising but whats funny about it is he didn't have possession of his 2009 1st round pick, he traded it to Washington
